Marie Najjar is the founder of Public City. She is a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and the International Association of Business Communicators, of which she is also a board member and shares joint responsibility for PR.

She is currently completing a Master of Arts (Organisational Communication) through Charles Sturt University. Marie is also a certified trainer, with a certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Marie is proud to have worked with two of the world’s leading public relations agencies, Text100 and Weber Shandwick. In her time with these two companies, she had the opportunity to collaborate with her esteemed colleagues on award-winning projects including the launch of Microsoft Windows 2000 & Microsoft Windows XP, a corporate social responsibility campaign for Telstra on Mobile Etiquette, Microsoft’s innovation white paper and the publicity for the Biennale of Sydney 2004.

Her experience includes publicity for the Global Business Forum and its speakers that included former US President Bill Clinton, Michael Eisner (former CEO, Disney) and Carly Fiorina (former CEO, HP), publicity and media management for the Dalai Lama tour in May 2002, public relations for Microsoft, Gartner, Sony Computer Entertainment (PlayStation), Avanade, Telstra Mobile, Gravity Games H2O, smartshopper.com.au, Heat Group, Genos (emotional intelligence), Paris 2012 (Olympic bid), Johnson & Johnson, Hudson (Formerly TMP Worldwide), linkme.com.au, ninemsn and more.

In her more youthful and vibrant days, Marie also got a taste of being on the receiving end of PR. In 2001, she was the on-air games reviewer for Channel 10’s longest running breakfast program, Cheez TV. For over one year, she reviewed consoles, games and accessories from Sega, Playstation (1) and some PC games. Unfortunately, this was well before the days of the impressive XBOX 360, Wiis and PlayStation 3s. Still, her brilliant on screen presence led her to another TV stint, this time with the Disney Channel.

Fun while it lasted, Marie eventually gave up her life in the limelight to focus on her true passion – media and communication. She also got sick of being constantly chased by her 12 year old fans.
