The better the genes the bigger the gift this Valentine’s day
When it comes to choosing a lifelong partner, 43 percent of men reported that the prospect of having good looking children was a factor in their decision. Babypredictor.com.au , a mobile entertainment service that predicts what a baby between two people could look like, found that women (35%) were less inclined to choose a partner for the purpose of attractive children. Carol Hayek, Principal Psychologist, Psychlinx said: “It’s an old academic argument that men are primed much more than women to highly value beauty in a romantic partner. Although procreation may be the last thing on our minds when smiling at an attractive stranger, we are all driven by a subconscious attraction to fertility, health and the preservation of the gene pool. “Both men and women are internally motivated to maximise reproductive success in an effort to produce beautiful bouncing offspring”. Despite men admitting to being the fussier gender when it comes to who they procreate with, they keep their baby views to themselves. Only 26 percent reported ever telling a friend about how attractive their kids with a partner could be. On the other hand, almost one in two women (49%) confessed that when describing a new relationship to friends, they have pointed out how cute their potential offspring could be. ##Ends##
